I’ve been practicing snowmen for the past few days (for the  next holiday card). Here’s my favorite so far.

Quick and dirty, done between Redwood City and Millbrae. He was seated in the gallery, and I had, mirabile dictu, found a seat with the non-bike civilians.

A gentleman sold me a Street Sheet at 12th St in Oakland, which I used for a set of sketches. Drawing in my sketchbook is apparenly not that noticable; drawing on a double tabloid already-printed sheet apparently is, though. I got busted twice by my models. This guy was enraptured by whatever crap he was reading or watching on his phone, and didn’t notice a damn thing.

I recently had the occasion to do some flying; these sketches are of other travelers at LAX, JFK, and ATL.

This gentleman was enjoying an early lunch at a table very close to where I had an unfortunate single-female-diner experience. I may have left hungry, but the sun was perfect, and I was left alone for more than a half hour to do my thing.

I hope I have the chance to sketch this gentleman again; I hardly did justice to his magnificent nose.

That jaw firmed right up once the gentleman woke up.

This gentleman sat very still, and I was able to get a good outline of the main features of the sketch. Then I switched pencils and when I looked up, my view was blocked by this guy reading some Stieg Larsson crapola. So I touched up some bits and here we are.

After a drawing debacle on Caltrain, I was ready to pack it in this evening, but once I got on BART and this young man sat so still, I did a quick sketch of him. Almost missed my stop, too!

Hipster was swigging from a brown paper bag: I didn’t know if I should hit or hug him. So I drew him instead.
