Katy German was born and raised in Jamaica, NY. Her childhood dream of working in publishing (certain as she was that it involved cigars, whisky at lunch, and putting up drunken novelists and poets on an office cot) faded under the realization that it actually involved writing reports peppered with words like “market placement” and “monetizing.” After twenty years of that, she discovered the art of letterpress. Now a printer by trade and illustrator by preference, she makes books by making them herself. Her studio in Pacifica, CA (a coastal town just south of San Francisco) is filled with odd ends of paper, a well-used french press, and an inky nine-year-old apprentice. She founded Pegma Press in 1997. This blog primarily serves as a work log.
